in thought Taken with my friend's Minolta at 50mm, f1.7, I'm particularly happy with this picture because this is the first animal I've caught on film sharply with a manual focus. Small animals, especially, move a lot, and with only 50mm I had to get very close. At that distance the animal knows the photographer is present (I'm talking about on-the-moment shots, not those planned ones that involve camping out and wearing camouflage paints...), and it's usually hard to get them to stay still. This particular cat was wondering around the tables along the corridor, and I had to follow it all the way to outside near the drains before I felt I could have taken a good shot of it. I'm really happy, because this was the only shot I took of it. I still need a lot of work on my manual focusing though...
