plot bunnies My stories are where you'd find the bulk of my recent writings. Although I tend to excel in short stories, I can't help trying to write long epics. That is why most of the stories are marked "incomplete". Even my short stories are never stand-alone: I like to use the same characters for different stories. Sometimes a character is used often enough to render a profile. These profiles incite me to think deeper into the character's personality and history, and sometimes the profile is a shaping factor of the character. They are also the background material for my stories, and add another dimension to them. blank verse Poetry has always been a very personal affair for me: my poems have accompanied me through most of my growing-up years, through some of my darkest hours, and some of the brightest too. Though not technically brilliant, they are the truest glimpses of my life that I can give you. Writing lyrics literally spun off from writing poetry. Although the initial impetus was to write songs for singing, over time lyric-writing has become yet another way to express myself. I must admit though, I believe I quite suck at lyric-writing, but I'll let you have the last say to that. contemplation My take on various subjects, thoughts is the section that houses my feeble attempts at writing articles, as well as shorter, less pretentious pieces which are simply statements and elaborations of my opinions. I find writing non-fiction rather challenging, but a fresh change from my usual fare... On the other hand, short inspired fiction pieces often land up in Freewrite, my literary blog. Snippets is an archive of my entries in Inspired(my old literary blog) and Freewrite, albeit edited and somewhat improved upon, as well as a showcase for other short self-contained pieces. go to top | |
